South Para Reservoir Modification

Modifications to the South Para Reservoir dam wall and spillway are proposed that will increase the mitigation capability of the reservoir. This will have the affect of reducing the flow in the Gawler River for major storm events.

The proposal is to raise the dam wall by 1.0 metre and raise the spillway by 1.57 metres but include a 10 metre wide slot. These modifications would have the effect of constructing a flood control storage on top of the full storage level of the reservoir.
